Background
Beirut and Beyond (Lebanon) and the World Culture Museums (Sweden) are joining forces to promote and support womxn voices from the Rap, Hip Hop and Trap scene in the MENA region. Both partners attempt to address the gender gap in these music genres under the Rap and Beyond project.
We are launching an open invitation for talented womxn singers in the rap / hip hop / trap music scene from the MENA region to take part in a creative residency, followed by concerts in Lebanon from 21 to 29 May.
Residency programme includes field visits, workshops, composition of a new song in collaboration with other residency members, rehearsals and performing LIVE in Lebanon.
Profile
- Female and non-binary Rap / Hip Hop / Trap singer
- Nationals from Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.
- Previous experience with published music work on platforms such as Anghami, Spotify, YouTube, Soundcloud, etc.
- You have a new song in mind and are looking for collaborations to release it.
- Open to collaboration with other artists.
- Able to release a new song within a short period of time.
Details
- Number of artists selected through this call: 8
- Covered expenses: visa, flight, accommodation, meals, travel fro/to airport in Beirut.
- There will be a symbolic fee offered to the participating artists.
- Apply by filling out this form. Applications are welcome until 21 March 2023.
- Shortlisted artists will be invited to an online interview during the last week of March.

Rap & Beyond Residency

ينضم كل من بيروت أند بيوند (لبنان) بالتعاون مع متحف الثقافات العالمية (السويد) لدعم أصوات النساء وأصحاب الجندر الغير معياري (non-binary) في موسيقى الراب والهيب هوب والتراب من منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا
تهدف المبادرة الجديدة راب أند بيوند – Rap and Beyond لتقليص الفجوة النوعية في هذة الأنواع من الموسيقى التي يتصدرها بقوة أصوات الرجال.
نحن نبحث عن 8 فنانات من أصوات النساء وأصحاب الجندر الغير معياري (non-binary) في موسيقى الراب والهيب هوب والتراب للمشاركة في إقامة إبداعية يعقبها حفلات غنائية في لبنان في الفترة من 21 حتى 29 مايو / آيار.
برنامج الإقامة الإبداعية يتضمن التالي: زيارات ميدانية، ورش عمل، تلحين أغاني جديدة بالتعاون مع باقي الأعضاء المشاركين في الإقامة، بروفات، وعروض حيه في لبنان.
برجاء التقديم إذا توافرت الشروط التالية:
- صوت نسائي أو غير معياري في (non-binary) في موسيقى الراب والهيب هوب والتراب.
- الجنسية من الدول التالية: لبنان، سوريا، الأردن، فلسطين، مصر، تونس، الجزائر، المغرب.
- الخبرة السابقة = إصدار أغاني سابقة متاحة على منصات الموسيقى مثل أنغامي، سبوتيفاي، يوتيوب، ساوند كلاود، إلخ.
- يوجد مشروع إصدار أغنية جديدة = كلمات الأغنية الجديدة متاحة.
- على الاستعداد للتعاون مع فنانات أخريات (womxn).
- القدرة على إصدار أغنية في وقت قصير.
يتم تغطية كافة تكاليف المشاركة في الإقامة في لبنان وذلك يشمل: الفيزا، الأوتيل، الوجبات، تذكرة الطيران.
- سيتم تقديم أجر رمزي نظير المشاركة.
- تقبل الطلبات حتى 21 مارس / آذار.
- سيتم عقد مقابلات مع من تم اختيارهم في مرحلة الفرز الأولي في الأسبوع الأخير من مارس / آذار.
