Open call: Live sound workshop

B&B is back with another live sound workshop, developed in partnership with Sana Romanos. This one targets intermediate sound engineers based in Lebanon, and is focused on sound system design and tuning.

The 3-day workshop will take place in different locations in Beirut, from the 1st to the 3rd of October, and will include theory supported by hands-on practice.

Theory:

Participants will be introduced to the general theories of sound and acoustics, with a focus on the criteria for system designing different spaces.

Practice:

Participants will explore three different spaces and learn how to design, choose the right equipment, and measure the system for each space.

Criteria of selection:
  • Practicing sound engineer with at least 1 year of experience in the field
  • Based in Lebanon
  • Proven potential

 
This workshop will prioritize a balanced gender selection, with a strong emphasis on encouraging female participation.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP LEADER

Sana Romanos is a Lebanese live sound engineer based in Beirut. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the American University of Beirut and a Master’s degree in Audio Engineering from Université Blaise Pascal in France. Her 10-year industry experience spans from front of house/monitor mixing positions to technical management with touring artists and major music festivals, notably the Roskilde Festival in Denmark. In 2021, she joined Meyer Sound as their technical services specialist in the MENA region covering sound system design and tuning, technical support and educational training for the company. On a personal basis, education is of utmost importance to Sana where she developed training programs, workshops and shadowing opportunities in an effort to advance knowledge and skills for the industry as a whole, and for women more precisely.
