Workshop by Mazen El Sayed.
8-12 November 2021.
A long-due collaboration with Mazen El Sayed (El Rass) finally takes shape in the form of a 5-day music production workshop tailor-made for aspiring producers, beginner to intermediate level. The program includes theory and practice, covering music fundamentals, composition and mixing, with a focus on sample-based production techniques.
This open call is addressed to all Lebanon-based individuals with an interest in music production, specifically those with basic prior knowledge in the field.
The workshop is led by Mazen El Sayed (aka El Rass), an established rapper and music producer from Tripoli, Lebanon. His discography includes 7 albums, the most recent is an instrumental album titled “Hor Ben Yam”, as well as more than 200 singles in collaboration with other music-makers and rappers from the region. El Rass’ work has earned recognition and visibility in the Arab world, specifically for his dense lyrical content, versatility of styles and subject matter, and his personal sonic approach.
A committee will review the applications and pick 8 participants based on quality, potential, and gender-balance.
The selected participants will be asked to confirm their availability for the entire period (8-12 November 2021) of the workshop.

ورشة عمل في أساسيات الإنتاج الموسيقي

يسرّنا أن نعلن عن ورشة عمل في أساسيات الإنتاج الموسيقي بالتعاون مع مازن السيد (الراس).
تمتدّ ورشة العمل ٥ أيّام وقد صمّمت للمنتجين المبتدئين أو متوسّطي المستوى.
يشمل محتوى الورشة نظريّات الإنتاج الموسيقي كما العملي، ويغطي أساسيات الموسيقى، والتأليف وهندسة التسجيل، مع التركيز على تقنيات الإنتاج القائمة على العينات الموسيقيّة.
هذه الدعوة المفتوحة موجهة إلى جميع الأفراد المقيمين في لبنان المهتمين بالإنتاج الموسيقي، وخاصة الذين لديهم معرفة أساسية مسبقة في هذا المجال.
ورشة العمل بإدارة مازن السيد (الراس)، وهو رابر ومنتج موسيقي من مدينة طرابلس. صدرت له إلى الآن ٧ ألبومات أخرها بعنوان “حرّ بن يمّ”، بالإضافة إلى أكثر من ٢٠٠ قطعة منفردة وبالتعاون مع عدد كبير من الموسيقيين والرابرز في المنطقة العربية. تحصّل الراس خلال أعوام عمله العشرة في المجال على قبول واسع في العالم العربي تجاوز حدود البلدان، وذلك بالأخص لفرادة محتواه النصّي، تنوّع أساليبه الموسيقية، ومقاربته الخاصة للإنتاج الموسيقي المرتكزة على استخراج العيّنات الصوتية من شرائط الكاسيت.
ستقوم لجنة بمراجعة الطلبات واختيار ٨ مشتركين استناداً إلى الخلفية والخبرات، مع مراعاة التوازن الجندري.
يجب على الموسيقيين الذي يتم اختيارهم تأكيد حضورهم خلال فترة ورشة العمل من ٨ إلى ١٢ تشرين الثاني / نوفمبر.
