As the latest round of B&B x Prozess Residencies nears its end, the residency before last was for Egyptian experimental musician Yunis. We had the pleasure of hosting him in Bern, Switzerland this September, where he spent a month at Prozess, working on projects he had on hold for a while.
The residency offered him the time and space to focus on two main projects, away from the busy nature of everyday life. During his visit to Kampala 2 years ago, Yunis met 4 musicians from the Nyege Nyege group and had planned to produce a collaboration album with them but he never found the time to do so, up until the residency. He also worked on a score for a short film which will be showcased soon at the Film and Video Umbrella Festival” in the UK.

He was also invited to the Swiss mountains for a weekend by our lovely partners at Prozess, serving as a perfect getaway to disconnect and get inspired by nature before diving back into work.
The last couple of days of the residency were meant to focus on his end-of-residency performance, at Prozess, as per usual. He shared the stage with Swiss clarinet player Paed Conca and Lebanse-Swiss experimental multi-instrumentalist Nadia Daou.
Keep an eye on his page for news about upcoming releases and gigs!
