We’re launching an open call for a new residency, this time in collaboration with Tunisian producer/DJ Deena Abdelwahed.
The residency targets amateur music producers based in Lebanon, inviting them to take part in a creative residency in Egypt from the 12th to 20th of April 2025. The intensive residency program will include exercises on building your artistic identity, finding your sound, experimenting on Ableton Live, and working on new music productions. The residency will be wrapped up with a networking session with key artists and professionals in Egypt, and the participants will be programmed in the upcoming edition of BBIMF of 2025.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- You’re an amateur music producer
- You’re based in Lebanon
- You’re not signed to any labels
- You’re over 21 years old
- You have serious interest in music production
- You know how to use Ableton (basic knowledge)
- You already have some demos or works in progress
- You’re available to travel on the residency dates
- You have a passport that is valid until October 2025
All music genres are welcome.
This residency will prioritize a balanced gender selection, with an emphasis on encouraging female participation. A committee will review the applications and pick 6 participants based on quality and potential.
Covered expenses: visa, flight, accommodation, meals, local transportation.

This residency is part of the MASAR program, and is funded by the Institut Francais.
ABOUT ABDELWAHED
Deena Abdelwahed is a Tunisian DJ, electronic music composer, and producer, currently based between France and Tunisia. Known for her distinctive fusion of Arabic musical influences with cutting-edge electronic sound design, Deena expresses her creativity through contemporary sonic experiments within the broader framework of Global Club Music.
Since 2017, she has been releasing music on the Paris-based label InFiné, including three EPs « Klabb » in 2017, « Dhakar » in 2020 and « Free Radicals » featuring Basile3 in 2022, two full-length albums: « Khonnar » in 2018 and finally in 2023 « Jbal Rrsas ». As well as numerous remixes, singles, and compilation contributions with other prominent labels. Beyond her releases, Deena’s dynamic performances span both DJ sets and live sets, allowing her to bring her innovative sound to audiences worldwide.
